You'll pretend you were men instead of babies, and you'll be played in the movies by Frank Sinatra and John Wayne or some of those other glamorous, war-loving, dirty old men. And war will look just wonderful, so we'll have a lot more of them. And they'll be fought by babies like the babies upstairs" (Slaughter-House-Five, p. 14).
Do I agree whether movies help promote war. No I do not, the reason why I think this is because in the history of all wars the cause of the war was not because of some previous box seller movie. But because of some elaborate scheme to get more money, or to overthrow an unruly or unjust dictator. To be quite honest with you I think movies depict the anguish and distrought that is brought upon young soldiers and warriors throughout the world. The unimaginable scenarios of fellows brothers in the heat of battle protecting and fighting along with men and women they have not known of before but have developed a unique bond with and stand up for each other as if they were brothers and sisters. That's what I believe movies promote is the bonds and friendships that are made between two complete strangers in the heat of battle.
